Cal-Stop

New Project

I thought of a new project that I hope would help convince FOX that they should weigh the fans enthusiasm for the show when they make their renewal decision.

As most of you know, the show experienced a big ratings jump this week, probably due in a large part to the news article about a potential lawsuit brought against FOX regarding the show. As much as we would like to think it was us that got the word out, that one article probably gave it more publicity than it has had in a long time and just look at the result. With this in mind, I'd love to show them what we could do.

I think all the fan art and vids are wonderful and very important for showing FOX how devoted we are to the show, an important consideration when it comes to plans for it. BUT, most of that material is hard to disseminate beyond fandom itself (copyrights damn them). What I want to do is show ways that we are willing to get the word out to the general public. So ...

I would love it if people would use one of the available graphics that can be found in other posts in this community to make flyers. Then post them anywhere and take a picture. In your car window, on the dorm bulletin board, in the window of the local convenience store, stuck to your neighbors' mailboxes, on a telephone pole. Heck, if you're brave enough, stick one to your own chest and take a picture in a public place.

Then send these photos to me. I will gather them all together in whatever form I decide is most effective and then send this, along with a letter explaining why we did it to FOX. I also think it could be useful when approaching potential advertisers and asking them to support the show.

While I don't think the photos HAVE to be done before it goes off the air since flyers could also be made encouraging people to ask for its return, sooner would be better. Of course, the finished product wouldn't be available until later but I don't think that matters. Let me know in a comment if you think this idea has potential and would participate. Or just send your pictures to the email I set up at lietomeproject(at)gmail.com.

Thanks in advance for your feedback.
ONOZ!

(no subject)

Would you be willing spend a few minutes of your time and around $30 or so to save your favorite show?  Too much for you?  How about $15, or even as little as $5?

We have until May when FOX will make a decision about giving Lie To Me a season 4.   The ratings have been climbing, but when the excitement of new episodes wears off, we need to make sure we keep the buzz going.

The fan projects are wonderful!  I’m excited about everything in the works and I hope everyone has a chance to participate in at least one project or several or maybe even all of them.  But wonderful as they are, those projects take time to gather and compile and prepare.  In the meantime, we can all be doing something to save our show, every single day if we choose.  It may not be as flashy as a fan video or an art book, but I guarantee it will make an impact.

Postcards.

So easy!  So inexpensive!  For right around $30 you can buy 100 postcard stamps and send a postcard to FOX every single day between now and their season 4 decision.  For $15, you can send a postcard every other day.  For $5 you can send a postcard every week.

I know we’re all watching the bottom line.  I know email and Twitter are free.  But email and Twitter messages can be easy to discount.  Click a few buttons and they're gone.  But tangible postcards?  Everyone notices honest-to-goodness mail.  Hundreds or thousands of postcards, addressed to FOX with our personal and supportive messages, piling up in the mail room?  That will make a big statement.

You don’t have to go out and buy postcards.  You can start right now!  Use 4 x6 index cards or recycle used greeting cards or cut postcards out of cereal boxes.  If you’re an artist, cut watercolor paper into postcard size and art that baby up.  If you have a little extra to spend, buy local postcards or split the cost of a pack of card stock with some friends and print your own.  Hit up a resale shop and buy a box of old postcards and slap a few stickers on the back for your message and an address.  Use your imagination!  The more unique, the better!   (Make sure your postcard is between  3 ½ “ x 5 and 4 ¼” x 6 in size, and oblong, not square, or they will be returned to you for extra postage.)

Mail to:
FOX Broadcasting Co.
Lie To Me
P.O. Box 900
Beverly Hills, CA 90213

You should definitely participate in as many of the fan appreciation projects as you can!  But do this, too.  Please.  It won’t take much effort or expense and it’s something you can start doing RIGHT NOW and continue doing EVERY DAY (or at least frequently) until FOX sees the light and we get our season 4.

I mailed a card today, and I have one ready to go for tomorrow and the next day and the next.  Who’s with me?

Save Lie To Me project

Yeah,the project.

First of all:Why?
Because Lie To Me season 3 has almost finished in the USA and the people from FOX broadcasting are not sure whether they'll be shooting a season 4.
This means that this could be the last season Lie To Me. And that is where we enter the picture.

In a tweet Tim Roth(Cal Lightman in the series) posted on January 24, he asks to send anything creative to FOX to explain our love for the show and maybe make it stay on TV for another (or more!) seasons. This is the link to his tweet. http://bit.ly/fllE2a

I suggest that everybody makes something pretty cool.A video (max.2 mins), a poem, a painting,a picture.
When you're done, please send it to me.
I've created a special e-mail adress where you can send your stuff.I'll try to open it at least 3 times a week.

But I really need your opinion on something:I could turn all your small projects in a video, but I feel it might be more effective when I can print it and send it to FOX through the mail.I think that has a lot more impact, certainly when we send all our stuff TOGETHER.

A very convenient thing is that we have lots of time to do it.FOX won't decide on a new season Lie To Me until May.
So maybe we will be able to set 2 deadlines instead of one.

Let me know what you guys think about it.E-mail,deadlines and short info in the next post.

Lots of love,
Astrid
